I draw on location, indoors and out, capturing what I see from direct observation.
My drawings tell the story of my surroundings, the places I live and where I travel.
My drawings are a record of time and place and I am truthful to the scenes I witness.

PENICHE 16th CENTURY FORTRESS
It was once used as a prison controlled by dictator Salazar's secret police to incarcerate political opponents and today houses a museum about local history.
No, I don't. I enjoy recording and drawing from direct observation and sometimes I do think of doing some journaling but I never never have organized this activity, I mean in my mind, in order to include sketches, images, diagrams and text or descriptions in an organized way. Or perhaps I'm just being too lazy :)

This has the beginnings of a very nice website. To see artists' sketches of their part of the world is exciting. Do you ever use a journal?
